A former marketing executive at Turner Broadcasting Systems has been named to the position of executive vice president of marketing for BET Networks, Multichannel News reported. Vicky Free gets the job, and will report to BET Networks Chairman and CEO Debra Lee.

Free will be based in New York and will oversee marketing strategy for BET, BET.com, BET mobile and Centric.

Free will be taking on duties formerly performed by Janet Rolle, who left the company in March for a move to CNN Worldwide as executive VP and chief marketing officer.

Said Lee: "We are thrilled to have Vicky join BET Networks given her strong experience in the cable industry and keen understanding in creating thoughtful brands and engaging the consumer it serves. As we continue in our company’s evolution, we couldn’t be more thrilled to have someone as talented as Vicky lead our marketing team and elevate our multi-platform and digital marketing strategies."
