As the premiere of Simon Cowell’s much-hyped singing competition “The X Factor” nears, the talent guru has unveiled his list of five songs he strongly recommends that the show’s contestants DO NOT TRY, Entertainment Weekly reports.

The list appears to include songs people mistakenly think Cowell likes, along with some he has apparently just gotten tired of. Here it is:

“I Believe I Can Fly” (R. Kelly)

“At Last” (Etta James)

“Unchained Melody” (Righteous Brothers)

“I’m Yours” (Jason Mraz)

“Ordinary People” (John Legend)

The story quotes Cowell saying: “Everybody seems to think ‘Unchained Melody’ is my favorite song of all time. It is not.”

And his comment on “I’m Yours”: “I cannot listen to that anymore.”
