Behar Isn’t Going Quietly After HLN Cancels Her Show

Joy Behar has become increasingly vocal about her HLN show’s cancellation as the program winds down, reports The New York Times.

Behar, who taped her final episode on Thursday, initially toed the company line in a November statement about the show ending, noting that she was proud of her two-year-old program, the story points out.

But now she and her fans — and her celebrity guests — are openly discussing her cancellation, and Behar is also talking with other networks about moving the show, the article says. "I’m hoping to be picked up by someone else,” she said, adding that she would like to bring some staff with her.

The host declined to name the networks, with whom she’s meeting next week and in January.

In the meantime, her guests have been defending her. Jane Fonda, talking about her former husband, CNN founder Ted Turner, remarked, "If Ted were still here, you’d still be on," the story says.

Added Whoopi Goldberg, who co-hosts “The View” with Behar and others: “I don’t know what HLN is thinking.”

Behar hinted that she may not have been a good fit with HLN, which took her off the air for a week when it covered the culmination of the Casey Anthony murder trial.

“I was sort of a fish out of water a little bit,” Behar said, adding, “They have a lot of crime on this network.”

She has also said her cancellation had something to do with HLN’s “rebranding,” the story notes.

  1. Ur gone cause no one can stand working with u?

  2. OK so who watches this show or anything else on HLN? She’s gone because she has nobody watching her show. And for those numbers counters that always feed us the increase in viewers it’s an increase in viewers from a limited amount of viewers. To be clear and honest, just listening to that whining voice for an hour was fingernails on a chalkboard.
Bottom line no viewers leads to no show.
