Frank Darabont’s TNT drama pilot has cast actor Neal McDonough in a starring role, reports TVLine.com

McDonough will play Los Angeles Police Chief William Parker in Darabont’s "L.A. Noir," which is set in the battles during the 1940s and 1950s between the police and mobster Mickey Cohen, the piece reports. The part of Cohen has yet to be cast, the story adds.

McDonough has previously recurred on FX’s "Justified" as the gangster Robert Quarles and has appeared on "Terriers" and "Desperate Housewives," the piece adds. Darabont, who developed "The Walking Dead" for AMC, will write and direct the pilot.
