Target Pulls Whitney Houston Greeting Card

Target retail stores have pulled a greeting card from the shelves after learning that it poked fun of the late Whitney Houston, TMZ.com reports.

The card, which was released before Houston’s sudden death last month, includes the words “Next time you think of dating the bad boy, consider Whitney Houston.”

Some have connected Houston’s substance abuse problems with her troubled marriage to “bad boy” Bobby Brown. The card apparently pokes fun at that relationship — but the joke became offensive to some people after Houston died.

A Target representative told the publication: "The card was in our stores prior to Ms. Houston’s death. As soon as this was brought to our attention, we began the process of removing the card from all applicable stores."
