Viewer numbers are in for Sunday’s debut of the critically acclaimed HBO comedy series "Girls," with the show drawing a modest 1.1 million viewers across two airings, reports EW.com’s Inside TV blog.
That represented a drop from its lead-in, "Eastbound & Down," which delivered 1.6 million viewers for its third-season finale, the piece notes.
"Girls" performed better than the debut of HBO’s most recent new comedy, "Enlightened," which received a second-season order, so it’s likely "Girls" will receive another season unless ratings plummet, the piece points out.
