This Sunday, July 29, 2012, marks the fifth anniversary of the death of TV news personality Tom Snyder at age 71. Besides anchoring local newscasts in both New York and Los Angeles, he became a national personality by hosting "Tomorrow with Tom Snyder" on NBC from 1973 to 1982, and then "The Late Late Show" on CBS from 1995 until 1999.

In a wonderful fond remembrance -- which you can read if you click here -- TVWeek Open Mic guest blogger Michael Horowicz, who was one of Snyder's producers, tells us all about this larger-than-life news personality.
