With a lawsuit pending between many of the cast members of ABC’s “Modern Family” and producers of the show, the key players appear to be prepared to get on with production of the upcoming fourth season.

Deadline.com reports that a new table read has been scheduled for Thursday morning and the cast is expected to show up. This news comes after the first table read for the new season, which had been scheduled for Tuesday, was scrapped because most of the major cast members were no-shows, as previously reported.

Deadline’s Nellie Andreeva reports: “I hear that the cast is expected to show up for the rescheduled table read in what is considered a good-will gesture on both sides with intent to resolve the salary dispute that escalated into a legal action on actors’ part that surprised and upset studio brass. I also hear that despite the lawsuit, the actors do not want to hurt the show that made them household names, thus their decision to go to work while the issues are being resolved.”

“Modern Family” cast members Ty Burrell, Julie Bowen, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet and Sofia Vergara filed a lawsuit Tuesday against show producer 20th Century Fox Television in Los Angeles Superior Court in an effort to void their contracts, as we reported earlier today. Fellow cast member Ed O’Neill reportedly later joined the suit in a show of solidarity.

The suit reportedly focuses on California’s “7 Year Rule,” which prohibits personal services contracts for longer than seven years.

Andreeva reports: “I hear there has been no progress in the negotiations between actors and studio since the filing of the complaint yesterday, but no one believes ‘Modern Family’ won’t come back in the fall.”
