One of the most highly acclaimed actors seen regularly on the New York stage — who has won two Tony Awards and two Daytime Emmys — has joined the cast of "The Good Wife," reports the Los Angeles Times.

"Nathan Lane is joining the already fully stuffed cast of "The Good Wife" for the CBS drama’s fourth season," the Times writes. "The actor’s recurring role is in addition to the already announced cast additions of Maura Tierney, Marc Warren and Kristin Chenoweth. Lane will debut in the season premiere as a bottom-line-obsessed manager attempting to cut costs to get the law firm back to financial health."

Lane was last seen on stage this past spring in a highly acclaimed version of Eugene O’Neill’s "The Iceman Cometh" during a sold-out run at the celebrated Goodman Theatre in Chicago. There had been some hope that that production, which played its last performance in Chicago last month, might come to Broadway, but the Goodman announced this past Friday, June 29, 2012, that "The Iceman Cometh" will not be transferring to Broadway this season.
