'Mike & Molly' Star Melissa McCarthy Sells Project to CBS Deadline
"Mike & Molly" star Melissa McCarthy has sold a comedy to CBS, reports Deadline.com. The project, called "Wake Up Call," will be co-executive produced by McCarthy and co-written and co-executive produced by her husband, Ben Falcone, and Larry Dorf, the story says.
The ensemble project tracks a group of friends whose lives are impacted by death sooner than they had expected, the story notes.
CBS last season bought a comedy from the same team, which was in strong consideration for a series pickup, according to the story.
