Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has canceled on "The View," reports EW.com’s Inside TV. Romney had scheduled the appearance for Thursday, but now only his wife, Ann, will appear, the story notes.

On the program’s Monday broadcast, Barbara Walters said, "Over the weekend, his people said that he had scheduling problems and would not be coming on with us. Nor at this point did he feel that he could reschedule."

As previously reported, Romney in September was captured on tape giving his thoughts on "The View," calling the show "high risk because of the five women on it." But Romney booked the appearance soon after the tape surfaced.

On the tape, he describes most of the co-hosts of “The View” as “sharp-tongued” and notes that only one of the five women is conservative.

  1. It’s a shame… He can reach a lot of women with this show. I’m sure he is not afraid of Whoopie.
