VH1 has tapped an "American Idol" runner-up to host "VH1 Divas," which will be broadcast live on Dec. 16. The show will be hosted by “Idol” alum Adam Lambert, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The show will also feature another "Idol" competitor, the sixth-season winner, Jordin Sparks, the story adds. Other stars set to appear on the show include Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Ciara and Kelly Rowland, with proceeds from the event going to VH1’s Save the Music foundation.

The evening will include tributes to the late divas Whitney Houston and Donna Summer.
