ABC has given a pilot order to a project from Sofia Vergara, according to The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed. The project, “Killer Women,” is an adaptation of an Argentine series, and is described as a soapy procedural that focuses on a female Texas Ranger.

Vergara is attached to executive produce along with her Latin World Entertainment partner Luis Balaguer. Hannah Shakespeare, who will write the script for the pilot, will also executive produce, as will feature film director Martin Campbell and Ben Silverman.

The network also gave a pilot order to a drama from "Awake" creator Kyle Killen. Called "Influence," the project is set at a workplace led by two brothers. They run an agency that uses the science of human motivation and manipulation to solve problems, the story says.

The two projects bring ABC’s total number of drama pilot orders for the current cycle to seven. The announcements follow news of a pilot order for "Doubt," from "House" creator David Shore, as reported separately.
