Dodgers Leaning Toward Moving TV Broadcasts From Fox

Jan 21, 2013  •  Post A Comment

The Los Angeles Dodgers are reportedly leaning toward switching from Fox Sports to Time Warner Cable in 2014, according to the Los Angeles Times’ Dodgers Now blog.

The team’s current contract with Fox expires at the end of the 2013 season, and the team had been in talks with the network about a new deal last fall. That was said to be worth at least $6 billion over 25 years, but the Fox exclusive negotiating window expired as Major League Baseball and the Dodgers dealt with their differences over revenue sharing, the story notes.

That allowed Time Warner Cable to start negotiating with the Dodgers. The team still needs to reach an agreement with MLB on how a new TV deal would affect the team’s contribution to the MLB revenue-sharing plan, the piece notes.
