Three-time Emmy winner Bryan Cranston — Walter White on AMC’s "Breaking Bad" — has extended his deal with Sony Pictures Television, Deadline.com reports.

The news comes as production is winding down on the final season of the AMC drama, which is produced by SPT. Cranston signed a first-look deal with Sony to develop and produce new series, including possible starring vehicles for Cranston, the piece reports.

“In addition to starring on ‘Breaking Bad,’ a role that has earned him three Emmy Awards, Cranston serves as a producer on the series, whose final eight episodes will air this summer,” the report notes.

The piece adds: “Cranston is coming off a rare double SAG Award victory Sunday, where he won as best actor in a drama series for ‘Breaking Bad’ and as a member of the cast of ‘Argo,’ which took the best performance by a cast in a motion picture award.”
