'Saturday Night Live' Fixture Misses Show After Injury TMZ
A fixture on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" missed Saturday's show because he recently suffered a broken hip, reports TMZ.com. Announcer Don Pardo is reportedly recovering and doing well.
Pardo has provided the voiceover for the show's opening since “SNL” debuted in 1975, and has only missed one season, the piece notes. On Saturday the cast was announced by a replacement using an approximation of Pardo’s voice, but the difference was noticeable, the report notes.
Earlier in his career Pardo was the announcer for "The Price Is Right," "Jeopardy!" and other shows.
