An upcoming cable comedy series will be the setting for what amounts to a mini-“Seinfeld” reunion. Deadline.com reports that the TV Land show “Kirstie,” which has already orchestrated a reunion of two “Cheers” stars, will bring together “Seinfeld’s” Jason Alexander and Michael Richards.

Richards is signed as a regular on “Kirstie,” and Alexander has been signed for a guest spot that Deadline says could turn into a recurring role.

The sitcom also represents a reunion for its star, Kirstie Alley, and fellow “Cheers” alum Rhea Perlman.

“’Kirstie’ centers around Broadway star Madison Banks (Alley), whose life turns upside down when Arlo (Eric Petersen), the son she gave up at birth, suddenly appears, hoping to connect after his adoptive parents have died.” Deadline reports. “Alexander will play Maddie’s agent. Perlman stars as Maddie’s assistant and best friend alongside Richards as Maddie’s outlandish driver.”

Said Alexander, known for his years as George on “Seinfeld”: “It is a strange and wonderful thing to be working on a brand-new show yet surrounded by familiar faces and friends.”

Deadline notes: “Alley, Perlman, Richards and Alexander are back together after sharing NBC’s Thursday 9 p.m. hour as ‘Cheers’ helped launch ‘Seinfeld’ before the Jerry Seinfeld/Larry David series succeeded the Boston bar sitcom as the Peacock Network’s flagship comedy.”
