An actress who had an impact on the canceled NBC series “Smash” has resurfaced with a new gig. EW.com’s Inside TV reports that Megan Hilty, who was a fan favorite in her appearance as Broadway star Ivy Lynn on “Smash,” is joining the new Sean Hayes comedy "Sean Saves the World."

Hayes, who previously had a guest spot on "Smash," will debut the new NBC show this fall. Hilty will portray Hayes’ character’s best friend and co-worker, Liz.

The role was originally played by Lindsay Sloane, who left the project in May.

  1. She was GREAT in Smash. I hope she’ll be as good in her new venture.

  2. I wonder if she’ll get to sing. She has an amazing voice. I loved her in Smash – actually I loved most of the cast of Smash. I’m still bummed it was cancelled.
