ABC has a new comedy project in the works from Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television. The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that the project is an adaptation of the British show "No Angels."

"The network is teaming with writing team Kat Likkel and John Hoberg (‘Bad Management’) to adapt the comedy about a raucous group of four female nurses working together and sharing the same house in a ‘Bridesmaids’-style girl gang comedy," THR reports. "The project revolves around their lives, dating, sex, making mistakes, plotting revenge and struggling with what it means to grow up and be responsible."

Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey, co-presidents of Amblin, will executive produce the project along with Spielberg, the story reports.

"Likkel and Horberg will serve as showrunners should the comedy move to series and executive produce alongside Julie Anne Robinson, who will also direct if ‘No Angels’ moves forward," the story adds. "Channel 4’s ‘No Angels’ starred Kaye Wragg, Sunetra Sarker and Jo Joyner and ran for three seasons from 2004-06. It was created by Toby Whithouse (‘Being Human,’ ‘Doctor Who’)."

ABC has been showing a lot of interest in U.K. programming as a source for its own shows, the piece notes. "Last pilot season, ABC turned to remakes of British fare ‘Spy,’ ‘Pulling’ and ‘Lucky 7’ (based on ‘The Syndicate’)," THR reports. "Only ‘Lucky 7,’ which also hails from Amblin, made it to series. (The lottery drama premiered to disappointing results on Tuesday.) Last year, British-born ABC Entertainment Group President Paul Lee greenlit a remake of British entry ‘Family Tools’ (based on ‘White Man Van’) to series. The comedy was canceled after one season."
