A TNT legal drama is back on track after losing its lead actress. The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that the drama pilot "Guilt by Association” found a new lead to replace Neve Campbell, with Julia Stiles stepping up to take on the role.

Campbell, known for the TV series "Party of Five" and features including "The Craft" and "Scream," bailed out on the TNT show after apparently deciding she’s not ready to return to series television, as we reported last month.

Stiles, whose extensive filmography includes a run on the Showtime series “Dexter” along with feature roles in "10 Things I Hat About You," "Mona Lisa Smile," "The Omen" (2006) and many other films, will star in the TNT drama, which is based on prosecutor Marcia Clark’s book by the same name, the story notes.

Stiles will play Rachel Knight, a deputy district attorney in the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. The project also stars Elisabeth Rohm as LAPD Det. Bailey Keller and Rose Rollins as prosecutor Toni LaCollette.

Stiles’ character “sometimes operates outside the law in order to uphold it. As a member of the Special Trials Unit, Rachel is at her best when prosecuting society’s worst,” the story notes.

The actress had multiple offers from broadcast and cable projects, the piece adds. On “Dexter,” she played Lumen, a role that earned her Golden Globe and Emmy nominations.
