A&E will bring back a dark drama series for another season. The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that the cable channel renewed “Bates Motel” for a third season, after it shuffled the program's time slot earlier this season.
The show first aired in the 9 p.m. hour on Monday nights, but then moved to its 10 p.m. time slot after “Those Who Kill” was removed from A&E’s schedule, the story notes.
“With live-plus-7 ratings now available for the March 3 premiere, the series has earned 4.6 million viewers and 2.6 million adults 18-49. It remains the network's top drama to date in the key demo,” the piece reports.
The drama, which is a prequel to “Psycho,” will return in 2015. Its current season is slated to end on May 5.
