The Maricopa County, Ariz., Medical Examiner’s Office has determined the cause of death for WWE star The Ultimate Warrior, indicating he died from cardiovascular disease, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The death of The Warrior, whose real name was James Hellwig, on April 8 was from natural causes, the Medical Examiner’s Office said. He was walking with his wife to their car at a hotel when he collapsed. He was 54.
The Ultimate Warrior was one of the top names in wrestling during the 1980s and 1990s, and was inducted into the World Wrestling Entertainment Hall of Fame just a few days before his death.
Speculation about the cause of his death sparked outrage earlier this month, when Nancy Grace raised questions about potential steroid use, as previously reported.
