An executive at Fox Cable Networks Group has been fired for an incident stemming from Malaysia Airlines Flight 370. Deadline.com reports that Darlene Lieblich Tipton, vice president of standards and practices, was fired after she used her company email address to raise funds for relatives of passengers of the missing Malaysia Airlines plane.
“The conduct and communications at issue were not authorized by Fox and were in violation of company policy,” a representative said in a statement. “As soon as we became aware we took appropriate steps and, while we cannot discuss the particulars, we can tell you the employee is no longer with the company.”
According to the report, Tipton had worked at Fox for 24 years, with 13 of those years at Fox Cable.
