“RuPaul’s Drag Race” is dropping a controversial segment after the Logo TV show came under fire for using a “transphobic” slur, The Huffington Post reports.

Activists complained that a challenge in the segment called “Female or She-male” was transphobic, or disrespectful of transgender people, because of the term “she-male,” which the story reports “is considered by many to be a violent word used against trans bodies and lives.”

In a statement, Logo said it had pulled the episode and that the challenge wouldn’t appear again on the show. “Furthermore, we are removing the 'You've got she-mail' intro from new episodes of the series,” Logo said. “We did not intend to cause any offense, but in retrospect we realize that it was insensitive. We sincerely apologize.”
