NBC's NUTS No More
NBC’s studio is no longer NUTS.
NBC Universal has changed the name of NBC Universal Television Studio to Universal Media Studios.
The change expands the division’s brand to suggest all digital media platforms rather than focusing on television, and rids the company of a division moniker commonly abbreviated as “NUTS.”
“NBC Universal is the premier content company on the planet, and this name change reflects our TV studio’s natural evolution as digital distribution expands and more platforms need premier ideas and programming,” said Ben Silverman, newly appointed NBC Entertainment and studio co-chair.
The newly named studio also announced its first major programming agreement since Mr. Silverman and Marc Graboff were named company co-chairs last month amid an executive shakeup. The studio will produce an English-language version of the Colombian telenovela “Sin Tetas No Hay Paraiso” (literally, “Without Breasts There Is No Paradise,” which is its working title) for NBC. A separate Spanish-language version will be produced for Telemundo.
The telenovela is based on a novel about a young woman who becomes a “pre-paid” prostitute for a drug trafficker in order to raise money for breast enhancement surgery and to get out of poverty. “Sin Tetas” set a record for the most-watched soap opera in Colombia.
“I scour the world for the best ideas and for the game-changing hit shows, and ‘Sin Tetas’ is one of those shows,” Mr. Silverman said. “We have a tremendous opportunity to achieve cross-promotional efforts on behalf of both of these telenovelas as we reach out to diversify our audiences.”
Mr. Silverman helped adapt the popular telenovela “Yo Soy Betty, La Fea” into the ABC hit “Ugly Betty,” which he executive produces.
The NBC division was established in 2004, when NBC acquired the assets of Universal and merged NBC Studios with Universal Network Television. The studio is one of the country’s largest production companies and is behind more than 15 primetime series, including NBC’s “Heroes” and “The Office” and Fox’s “House.”

Ben Silverman, is Handsome, Brilliant, and Wise. EXACTLY what NBC/
Universal Media Studios needed to regain number one stasis in the Networks.
Just watching Silverman's gusty moves, and winning choices, keeps amazing and wowing me.
Everywhere I look I see that Beautiful NBC 'Peacock' ... strutting Ahead...!!!! hint, hint... abc...fox...cbs
Ms. Taylor
May I ad that even though that beautiful NBC Peacock is strutting ahead, it takes time to get there. With some testing and figuring out on the way.
Unarguably, Ben Silverman has what it takes to get that Peacock where it needs to be.... playing the recognizable NBC chimes as it struts NBC forward to victory.
The gutsy moves, the important choices that Ben Silverman has made for NBC and for their viewers, were absolutely necessary, --Perfect, Brilliant!
This NBC Network fan is so thrilled sitting back and watching all this 'magic' happen to a network never more worthy. Love you, NBC!!!

NBC recently banned an ad supporting our troops from running on there network. I for one was sickened by this and will no longer be watching any nbc stations. NBC, CNBC, MSNBC. Not that there is much to watch these days on those sations due to the writers that they are trying to screw over by not paying them fairly. Once again NBC shows there true colors and i say screw them.
Boycott NBC!!

I think we should all boycott msnbc and nbc. They need to get the message. Keith Obermann , Chris and Rachel or whatever her name is. The channels are joke and they want to hijack a elections. Instead of telling the truth and let the voters decide. They are trying to influence the election with their views.
