Crichton Miniseries Rolls for A&E
“The Andromeda Strain,” an A&E original miniseries based on the Michael Crichton book of the same name, began production last week in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Benjamin Bratt (“Law & Order”), Rick Schroder (“24”), Eric McCormack (“Will & Grace”), Christa Miller (“Scrubs”), Andre Braugher (“Homicide: Life on the Streets”), Daniel Dae Kim (“Lost”), Viola Davis (“Traveler”) and Ted Whittall (“Falcon Beach”) have signed on to star.
“Andromeda” revolves around a deadly strain of bacteria that kills an entire town except for an old man and an infant, the only clues to immunization for scientists scrambling to find a cure.
Mikael Salomon (“Backdraft”) directs from a script by Robert Schenkkan (“The Quiet American”).
Produced by Scott Free Productions and Traveler’s Rest Films, its executive producers are Ridley Scott, Tony Scott and David W. Zucker for Scott Free Productions and Tom Thayer of Traveler’s Rest.

Fantastic! I hope it's at least as half as good as the wonderful original!
