Maury Povich Through the Years
Jan. 17, 1939 Maurice "Maury" Richard Povich is born in Washington, D.C. His father is Washington Post sports columnist Shirley Povich.
1959 Maury Povich attends the University of Pennsylvania.
1962 Maury graduates from college with a degree in television journalism. He marries Phyllis Minkoff. They have two daughters, Susan and Amy.
1966 Maury goes to work at WTTG-TV in Washington as a sportscaster and news reporter.
1967 Maury becomes the original host of WTTG's midday talk show "Panorama."
1968 Maury meets a young copy person named Connie Chung while anchoring the WTTG news.
1979 Maury and Phyllis are divorced.
1983 After anchorman stints in Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco and Philadelphia, Maury returns to WTTG in Washington to host "Panorama" and the 10 o'clock news.
1984 Maury and Connie Chung are married.
1986 Following Rupert Murdoch's purchase of Metromedia, Maury Povich is hired to host a New York-based "infotainment" tabloid news program called "A Current Affair." It becomes a hit in national syndication.
1991 Maury hosts a new syndicated talk show called "The Maury Povich Show," produced by MoPo Entertainment (his production company) and Paramount Television.
1995 Connie and Maury adopt a son, Matthew Jay Povich.
-- New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani honors Maury at a special City Hall ceremony for his efforts to raise awareness for National Adoption Month.
1998 After "The Maury Povich Show" comes to an end, a new incarnation emerges called "Maury," with Studios USA, a division of Universal, taking over syndication. Amy Rosenblum is executive producer of the new show. In the premiere season, the "Who's Your Daddy?" theme shows become a staple, highlighted by the results of real DNA tests.
-- Maury's father, legendary sportswriter Shirley Povich, dies. He had been honored with the Baseball Writers Association of America's J.G. Taylor Spink Award, the Baseball Hall of Fame's honor for sportswriters.
2000 Maury hosts an updated prime-time version of the classic game show "Twenty-One" on NBC.
2003 Amy Rosenblum names Paul Faulhaber co-executive producer of "Maury."
2005 Paul Faulhaber becomes sole executive producer of "Maury" after Amy Rosenblum moves on to NBC's "Today."
2006 Maury Povich and wife Connie Chung co-host the MSNBC weekend news program "Weekends With Maury & Connie." It runs six months.
-- Maury receives the prestigious Governor's Award from the New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for exemplary achievements in the television industry.
2007 Dabbling in print journalism, Maury launches the Flathead Beacon, a weekly newspaper in Flathead Valley, Mont., where he lives part of each year.

Maury covered a story on A Current Affair (1988-89 about a baby girl being put up for addoption and at risk of being taken into the Escamo Tribe her mother was taken out of because of their abbusive life style. The Mothers name was Jodi Argelben. (not sure about spelling of name)She was my 16 year old brothers girlfriend and that baby girl was his. He would love to meet his daughter now that she is an adult. Wouldn't it be great to have Maury reunite them on the Maury Show? PLEASE contact me for more information. Thank You!!

How many times have you "Povich" had Jewish guest on any of your marvolus plots ? not to often if ever. Asian's ? nope Connie wouldnt approve of that. Faulhaber,Rosenblum and Povich have no problem making Black, Spainish and " white trash " all look like trash. The way Maury promote's his ghetto nonsense agenda is nothing short of sicking.
