NBC has ordered a true crime drama pilot from “Rush Hour” director Brett Ratner, the network confirmed Tuesday.
“Blue Blood” is based on a memoir by Edward Conlon, a Harvard-educated New York City police officer. The program follows Mr. Conlon through his first year on the force.
Mr. Ratner, who also executive produces “Prison Break” for Fox, has signed on as director and executive producer. Neil Tolkin (“License to Drive”) will write and executive produce the pilot.
“We love this world Neil Tolkin created inside of this fantastic script,” said Teri Weinberg, executive VP, NBC Entertainment. “We could not be more excited to have this visually realized by Brett Ratner, one of the most successful film directors on the planet.”
The pilot is produced by Rat Entertainment, Little Engine in association with 20th Century Fox Television. Gina Matthews and Grant Scharbo are also listed as executive producers.
