What: Twentieth TV’s post-Emmys party
Where: Spago, Beverly Hills
When: Sunday, Sept. 16
Entertainment: Deejay Frankie Inglesias spun a fantastic mix of ’60s, ’70s and ’80s tunes that had the crowd swaying, if not dancing.
Decor: With Canon Drive tented to create more room for the crowds, the party had an indoor-outdoor feeling as crowds moved from the tent to Spago’s patio to the restaurant’s spacious interior. Guests were greeted by bubbles and bubbly as they entered the tent, lit with a greenish glow (perhaps to signal Fox’s green ambitions).
Food and drink: Twentieth and Wolfgang Puck went all out, offering mounds of fresh seafood and at least 15 different desserts, including chocolate-dipped strawberries and sugar cookies shaped like a footprint, complete with colorful toenails. (They could have been a reference to Fox’s commitment to reduce its carbon footprint, but Fox said the cookies represented the footprint that we all leave on the earth.)
Highlights: Mingling with the numerous Emmy winners in the crowd—and look out, those things are sharp!—were NBC’s Kevin Reilly; Kiefer Sutherland hanging out at a back table with “24” co-executive producer Jon Cassar; Glenn Close; “Boston Legal’s” William Shatner, Gary Anthony Williams, Saffron Burrows and James Spader, who must be getting used to toting those awards; “American Idol’s” Nigel Lythgoe; Seth Macfarlane; Spike Feresten; Brad Garrett; and Jaime Pressly, who changed dresses at some point after leaving the Governors’ Ball and arriving at Spago, perhaps to better coordinate with her statuette.
