Court TV Fires Half of Web Staff

Court TV is firing 16 of the 31 people on its Web staff as the network, which is changing its name to truTV in January, shifts its online trial coverage to CNN.com.

The network also is eliminating six positions in operations and two in daytime.

CNN will be replacing its CNN.com/law site with CNN.com/crime. The new site will pick up trial coverage and will be managed by CNN.com staff in Atlanta.

“We will make truTV.com a popular destination, with an abundance of video content and materials exclusive to the Web,” said Marc Juris, general manager of Court TV/truTV. “Our archive of stories from crimelibrary.com will be available as well.”

i can see why court tv fell on its face. it used to be good to watch
now u have nothing but comericals and lawyers running their mouths

Texas Lady:

I absolutely love watching Court TV! I thouroughly enjoy watching the trials. Gaining up to date true knowledge & input.
I do however think that if you FIRE anyone, it should be Star Jones! Not only does the sight of her make me ill, but she is soooooo boooooring! I love all of the other hosts, but as soon as "Star" comes on my channel is changed.

Hot 4 Nancy:

All I can say is whatever you do, don't get rid of that fisty-hot, flared-nostril havin' milf-to-be, named Nancy Grace. She's so intense and so freakin' hot! Am I right about it! Can I get an amen? I knew that I could, praise him.

Fearless Frank:

Court TV has been going downhill for some time in my opinion. I realize that I am outside the 25-45 male demographic, but I am not interested in more car chases, cop crashes, or "reality". I will still tune in to the interesting trials during the day. It appears 55 and older people are not welcome to most networks these days.

mamab:

u really let the veiwers down, who have been loyal 2 u 4 10+ yrs.they're NOT ALL OVER 50 either. there are many younger prople that r sick of COPS [I'VE SEEN EVERY EPISODE],these fake BOUNTY BIMBOS, CAR CHASES, CRASHES and OMG STAR JONES.TED doesn't need the $$, but that life now.so when ur ratings fall in the toliet,u will re-think this trailer park, ghetto, classless move.o i know u won't miss me,and i sure won't miss u. believe me i'm speaking 4 a lot of people.when this message reaches the
sponsers then what? i know this will get trashed, but it still made me feel good to send it.
NO MORE COURT/TV FOR ME.

Tiffany Grant:

Dear Sirs,
I am extremely upset about your upcoming "changes." Court TV has been my favorite channel for years. I enjoy all of the crime related programs immensely and am greatly disappointed by your scheduled proamming changes. If I want to watch some goofey program about "Ski Patrols," etc., I would opt for another channel. It was bad enough when the folks at your company pretty much blackmailed the servers into paying you an outrageous fee increase, which, of course, was passed on to customers, but this has me pretty much enraged. I will watch the Discovery Times Channel from now on. That channel offers many real life crime stories. I will change my program package to exclude your claimed "Newer and Better" programming. Thanks for taking away one of my few joys in life. Merry Christmas, JERKS.

Tiffany Grant

Linda:

Please enough with the cops shows. bounty shows. give us forensic, meaningful shows. Please get rid of STARRRRR JONES.

i usually don't watch tv but i have been absolutely addicted to court tv for at least fifteen years.i noticed it going downhill about a year or two ago,the commercials were so frequent and the anchors talked over the best parts of the trails, and also repeating the boring trials ,when they had so many fantastic trials to choose from.then they lost catherine cryer and nancy grace and many others i had come to enjoy over the years, then they dropped the news breaks which were great.whoever this new director or owner is , is such a jerk.oh! great idea lots more cops and speed busters shows and naked miami beach shows.it wouldn't be a big deal anywhere else except court tv seemed to have such integrity.the murder by the book show is good.it is really too bad for me cause i really loved the old programs.i hate even the corny new slogan tru tv. i won't be watching and i hope you won't either. also ,,,can someone put a sock in ashleigh banfords mouth?? poor jack ford..and starr jones?? ABSURD!

OJ spimson:

buh bye Court tv you worthless bunch of crackers.

Lisa H:

I felt like slicing my throat from ear to ear when I found out Court TV is ending. I love Court TV! I don't want to lose the great prime time shows like "Forensic Files" and "North Mission Road." I hope TRUTV keeps these great forensic shows. If they don't, I hope they have constant low ratings. MAY COURT TV LIVE LONG AND PROSPER!!!

Sheryl:

I'm in total mourning. I LOVE(D) Court TV. It got me through years of recovering from cancer and being a shut in. I can't think of a worse idea than shifting to more inane "reality" based programming. Court TV was riveting, educational and fascinating and the best thing on daytime TV. Learned the rules of evidence, the basics of forensics and the elements of our justice system. How can these fundamentals not be "riveting" to any American of any age. Good bye Court TV, you will live forever in my heart. Please, please do not take away Forensics Files---that would be a major felony. And, for gosh sakes, get rid of Star Jones. She makes of a mockery of what Court TV should be about and represents the slide of a great network. Maybe C-SPAN can take up the void???

joey leach:

It remains to be seen whether new changes are for the better; at least I can start watching ash banfield as she is not only a doll but seems to be taking happy pills(FUN TO WATCH]and believe me when she was on here in Dallas, quite uptight...

Brandon Sage:

I agree. COURT tv was one of the only reasons I chose to pay for cable tv , considering I am only able to watch a couple hours a day after work. I LOVED shows like forensic files, north mission rd. psychic detectives, etc... I HATE cops, ski patrol, bounty babes and all the other pointless re-runs I'll get to see ONCE again. Thankfully MSNBC and a couple other channels have what I'm looking for every once in a while. Thanks for nothing.

Joy Flowers:

I agree, in most part, with the above opinings regarding your "actuality" TV. Who the heck needed more Cops and junk like that???? Stick to you guns and show more real live trials. Sure do miss Catherine Crier.

Shelly E.:

What is this TRU tv crap. For the past 3 days it's been Ocean Force Beach Control, Most shocking, and oh yea speeders! Can only take so much of these 3 shows over and over and over! Bring back the Forensic shows, court/trials.

jean white:

i really don't like tru tv , court tv was better.question??why is daryl hinnman in these programs. we know she is just put in for effect.the show will carry its self. it's like the osterman weekend if any body remembersthat.( what you see is notalwaysthe way it is. i also agree with othersabout the comentaters..get rid of some.

kathye a collier:

I hope, when the powers that be see the ratings go so in the tank, they will reconsider this move-No more Reality shows-cripes!
Personally I like all the current staff on Court TV, hope they all stay around.
Ditch Starr Jones!
Keep live trials
Keep name "Court TV"
Thanks from an addicted "COURT TV" viewer.

Penny:

In response to Jean White, I don't like Tru TV, either, except for a few holdover programs such as "Power, Privilege & Justice," "Forensic Files" and "Murder by the Book." The "actuality" stuff is lame.

I also enjoy "Body of Evidence," featuring DAYLE HINMAN, to whom I assume you were referring. I could barely understand your post. Please try to write more clearly next time.

Martha:

What a shame, you have screwed up a great shoe. who wants to watch all these silly ass shows. Cops I am sick of this mess. The web site is really amess. Do something get rid of all this beach and cops junk.

E.M. Weiland:

No one seems to like the new programming. I had numerous joint replacements over the past 2 years and was housebound for awhile. Court TV kept me entertained. This new programming, in general, does not grab my interest. Star Jones program is flat. Jami Floyd is still in the 50's with her racism. Let's start ignoring little hurts. Sometimes people speak without thinking. I have, haven't you?

g. lawless:

I don't enjoy court tv like I did, to many lawyers running their mouths, to many Ashley Banfields with a big, big, screaming mouth, not enough people like Jack Ford, and Starr Jones show is the pits. I switch my channel when she comes on.

theresa:

thought i was the only one who could not stand Star Jones! after reading some of the other commets i see i am not alone.

Alexis:

I will jump on the bandwagon here - and I hope that TRU TV (Formerly COURT TV) is listening:

TRU TV is the worst move I've ever seen from a network. I was a loyal fan of COURT TV, not anymore. I liked all the shows that used to be shown on COURT TV, such as Forensic Files and Dominick Dunne; now I'm lucky if I get to see them once a week on Saturdays, but I don't even flip to TRU now...because..honestly, what's the point? I liked COPS when I was 17 years old; c'mon YOUR AUDIENCE IS MORE INTELLIGENT THAN THAT! No one wants to see endless re-runs of Cops. No one wants to see endless Beach Patrol episodes! If we did, we'd be watching FOX REALITY and I'm certainly not watching that, nor am I watching TRU tv, either. I hope the network people are PAYING ATTENTION because your ratings are going to go down, way down. It's not just me, it's a lot of others who absolutely hate the new programming. Too bad - you shouldn't try to fix what wasn't "broken" in the first place. Never mess with a good thing.

Well, now I watch "ID" from Discovery: luckily, it has the style of crime shows/true crime (NOT reality!) that used to be provided by Court TV before they made the most horrible move possible.

Betty:

Love Star Jones' show. Hate Ashley Banfield. Sometimes I miss a verdict so need to find verdicts on line. Can this be done???
Also, hate the cop chases. Cancel them.

robert terkowitz:

Where did tru TV stash Psychic Detectives. I've followed this show thru every single schedule change and constant reruns. thanks to the magic of VCR. Now after the tru TV changeover, Psychic Detectives has disappeared.

Jeannie:

As soon as I get interested in a trial, the anchors have to go to commercials or talk to a bunch of attorneys. They always make us miss the
trial when people are on the stand. Why can you not put more In Sessions where you took off Star Jones?

The anchors are always saying boring, why can not
we decide that? They break away from the trial when they are bored. I think they have been at it to long, maybe. May need some new blood in their places.

My husband cannot stand the lady for the defense segment. I have a hard time with Banfield.

I do like Lisa though.

I will still continue watching your Tru station until I just get completed dissatisfied.

Marian Bliss:

BRING BACK COURT TV. NOW PLEASE

Lisa:

I, too, miss Court TV. Until today, when I read everyone's comments, I thought I was the only one. I hardly ever turn it over to Trutv anymore. Only, when the court coverage is on...after that I always change it. I LOVED the continual court coverage. Now, though, when the court coverage goes off at 2:00, I change the channel. We are missing up to the minute news on trials and verdicts. I hate it...I really do. Please bring back the old programming, and if nothing else, please bring back the trial and court coverage continually during the day. It's just not the same. I felt I learned SO MUCH from watching the trials ~ absolutely loved it. When it is over each day, I just turn off the tv. How's that working for y'all? Are ratings up? Please listen to your viewers.

Lisa

G.B.:

I have just read more remarks from your watchers and all I can say is they pretty much said it ALL you hav totaly missed the boat. The new program stinks.

Jean:

I am heartbroken. Where is Vinnie Politan. It is not right no one mentions what happened to him.

Sylvia:

I'm wondering if they are actually trying to eliminate the network. I can't figure out a legit reason for doing so, but otherwise, why do they keep shooting themselves in the foot. All the good anchors are gone. If they get rid of Beth Karras, I'm done. As it is, I just tivo it and check to make sure nothings going on. Hardly ever is.

Art Galvin:

What did happen to Vinnie Politan? It seems that a lot of these moves are arbitrary and capricious. One moment they're here and the next they are gone. No explanation. I'm hoping that Jean Caseraz is taking a well deserved break and that she too hasn't been canned and we (the viewers) were'nt told. After those trips between frigid Wisconsin, then Las Vegas, and back to Wisconsin, she needs three weeks in the sun. I would like to think the Station reads these comments and takes them to heart.

DieB:

have watched since 1982. truly disapointed with the changes. ashleigh's voice is so annoying, i was glad when she was on leave. with star gone and ashleigh back, cannot tolerate the station. bye, bye

Lucy:

It is indeed so very sady to see the downward spiral that TruTV has taken. I have been a Court TV addict since 1994-95 - back when the network used to be about TRIALS and informative, thought-provoking and intelligent broadcasting. Back when they actually used to cover the TRIAL instead of promoting anchors' and guests' opinions and biases, and running endless repetative and inane commercials. Back when they used to stay on TV until the courtroom went dark for the day so we WATCH THE TRIAL! What a concept!!!

But - that was when they actually cared about their viewing public. I don't know what "brain trust" is in charge these days, but my only hope is that another network will pick up this dropped ball and run with it. This is the 2nd week of trial reruns which is about as interesting as watching paint dry. And when the next 'new' trial does finally get underway, they will be off the air @ 3:00PM EST - just about the time the trial gets rolling!

They have lost wonderful anchors (Catherine Cries, Greta Van Susteren, Nancy Grace, James Curtis, etc) - the now the latest casuality -Vinnie Politan. Not so much as a good-bye from him or an explanation of why he is gone. Just Lisa Bloom all by her lonesome I hope someday that someone treats these folks the same way that they have treated these others.

This has got to be proof that "The Peter Principle" is alive and well. (Promoting the least qualified personnel to their highest levels of incompetence). Congratulations, TruTV! You've done it!!!

Susan:

I concur with most of the other comments, I too am very disappointed with the tailer-trash direction of the network. The network had much more integrity when it was Court TV. I enjoyed the forensic shows although I couldn't understand why there were no current shows - its not like there are no crimes in the U.S. At first I was confused by the departure of the afternoon hosts, but I understand why they would no longer wish to associate with the network as it is currently run. I too have switched to Discovery which is doing an EXCELLENT job picking up where Court TV fell off a few years back. I do enjoy the daytime court trials although I am unable to find the In Session news on your pathetic website. At least you had the wisdom to take off the Star Jones show which had absolutely no business being on at 3 p.m. when courts are still "In Session." I also miss the news updates. You had some very bright people on your staff, why you chose to fire them is a mystery to me. Aspiring for mediocrity, and an audience that believes Reality Shows and wrestling are real, came as quite a surprise. I did not expect that from a network that I used to respect. When Discovery starts to offer daytime court coverage, I will switch over permanently.
I wish you luck with the fickle (whatever is new) demographic with an 8th grade education because the more educated, loyal following will be tuning off with the evening's CAR CHASES, BEACH/SKI PATROL SHOWS (not sure what these shows have to do with anything), and other inane programming your crack staff dreams up. Did someone hire their nitwit nephew or something? You would think that someone would wake up and realize that this was a bonehead move and correct the programing. Sadly, it may be too late. Discovery has definitely taken over, and A&E has some good programming too.

Cydney:

I am so disapointed that Catherine Cryer is gone. She was the best. The old website was great, this new CNN site is terrible and will not be returning. Also all the new shows, the reality shows, what a drag.

Very disapointed

Cydney

Laura:

CNN made a huge error with Court TV...oh, I mean In Session. Funny, now that it is called In Session there is less court room coverage than ever.
I know maybe it sounds like I have no life, but things like switching off at 3pm no matter what is ridiculous. (remember the Darren Mack verdict getting cut out on a Friday)
Gee, thanks for letting us know that we can follow trials online. If I wanted to "watch" my computer I would have it in a location that allowed me to do housework, cook, and watch with others in comfort.
Now Vinnie is gone??? What I have always loved about the shows are the respect and comradarie the daytime hosts seem to have for one another. How about the network showing respect to its beloved hosts? Even Star got a send off final episode...sheesh!
Sad that this channel has become a guilty pleasure...I don't even admit that I watch it anymore! Beach Patrol and Shocking Videos VS. Vinnie Politan and other valuable staff?? With all due respect, please get a clue!

i have been a loyal fan of "courttv" since the William Kennnedy Smith trial in 1991. i sufferred through nancy grace's histrionics and didn't question when james curtis mysteriously disappeared from the screen. i really take umbrage, however, with Vinnie Politan's mysterious
departure. the only salvation from lisa bloom and her mother was Vinnie. Lisa Bloom is a civil rights attorney; Vinnie brought a prosecutor/defense attorney perpective and it kept
"compassionate" Lisa honest. Trutv really sucks now; i like Jamie Floyd and Jack Ford (please get
d of the airhead Ashleigh Banfield) but will not watch or puchase the station's sponsors' products
until and unless i receive the story of vinnie's
sudden disappearance.

I have been a very loyal court tv watcher for over 10 years. I loved Catherine Crier, Diane Diamond, and Nancy Grace. I did not care for Star Jones. I was surprised to see Vinnie gone with no explanation. IS BETH KARAS GONE ALSO? They have a new girl as a correspondent. Beth is the absolute best. I absolutely hate Jami Floyd. She would think there was reasonable doubt if Adolph Hitler were on trial. She tries to stuff innocent down everyone's throat. I wrote in to them recently after the case of the lady stabbed by her boyfriend after she rejected his proposal. Hello, it was the third time they had shown it. I like Jack Ford. He is the best on now and Beth Karas is the best over all....We need another network to pick up where court tv left off. This one sucks. I dont care anything about car chases, beach babes etc......

Why did you take a show that wasn't broken and proceede to royally screw it up? I can't tell you howlong I've been watching Court TV, but it was when the Maglite inventor was on trial. That was a longggggggg time ago. Now we have a continuous talk show and a little trial coverage. Then you went and fired Vinnie. What are you people using for brains, or are you sitting on them. I used to turn my TV on at 9:00 A.M. and enjoy the coverage while I did housework, cook and all the other good things housewives do,and turn it off at 5:00 P.M. There has got to be someone with some clout that can get this show back on track. Ifnot. you're going to lose a lot in advertising because no one will be watching.

art g:

Boy, what a lot of animus has been displayed the last two weeks or so and in my humble opinion, rightly so. "They" have made a lot of poor choices - too many car chases, not enough testimony - too many 'guest' shots that override court room issues - too many ill timed commercial breaks that are screamingly loud in comparison to the rest of the programming. There are two women, Jean Casarez and Beth Karis, who are absolutely tops, the stars of the station. Both of these women can explain issues in such an understandable way to me and are quite easy on the eyes. They make my day! It is too early to tell about Jennifer London. And as long as I'm at it, have Jami Floyd cut her hair above her eye brows.

kenny:

To Maggie:

I also remember the "Maglite" trial. I couldn't believe the verdict went against her. That trial was one of the very few civil trials on CTV if memory serves me.To Margie: Re: Jamie--she does take an aggressive defense position much in the way Nancy Grace took the prosecution position which was "if you've been indicted, you must be guilty". For Jamie it's "so the police arrested you standing over the victim with the smoking gun in your hand and you claim you're innocent? Sounds like reasonable doubt to me! Seriously though, it appears that there are some very irate ctv fans who will "vote with their remote". The
saddest part of the impact on the change in programming is that the segment of the viewing
audience that likes "bimbo bounty hunter babes"
and endless repeats of "Cops" will register enough
misleading positive feedback to make the powers that be think the format is working. The truth is,
however, Trutv is vacant, hollow and is like the
grocer who sells for a nickel apples he bought for a dime to create "traffic" AND those apples
have started to spoil.

christine:

i've been a courttv fan since the beginning but got very much interested again when i got sirius 2.5 years ago. court trials were brilliant on the radio, and vinnie's talk show was first rate. i can't believe trutv dropped the radio deal and now has fired vinnie. i was concerned about the ownership change and my fears have come true. i too am watching the discovery investigations channel.

Susan:

What is the matter with you people at Trutv? I am sick of all of the cop shows, most daring, speeders, most anything! Dang! Bring Vinnie Politan back and be quick about it.

Kristina:

Oh....I am SO GLAD to read all of these wonderful comments from other loyal COURT TV viewers like myself. First, it will NEVER be "Tru TV" to me ONLY COURT TV but then how can I say that since whoever is in charge has totally messed up this network?! I'm so upset over this!! Now, where's Vinnie?! No one has an answer! And poor Lisa Bloom (who I appreciate very much by the way) probably was instructed to keep her mouth shut about it or have her job axed, too. Are you actually going to doubt the loyalty and of your Court TV fan base and NOT tell us what happened to Vinnie?! I am very offened at this. Moreso, what "brainiac" thought to add dumb-#$% cop shows, speed shows, beach patrol shows and the rest of the stupid shows of the like?! Someone on this blog said it best, it has all the intelligence of someone in the 8th grade! You know, for years and years I described myself as a "Court TV Addict". Loved the trial coverage, Forensic Files, Psychic Detectives, Dayle Hinman and my beloved Dominick Dunne. I see less and less of these shows and see more and more of dumb-#$% "reality shows". WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!! It's bad enough that you shoved your new name change down our throats for months (stupid! "Tru TV")...but now fire everyone that's wonderful AND "majorly" screw up the programming, too? I'm sick and damn tired about hearing of "demographics". Is that all you network people listen too? Where do they gather this bogus information? You are completely leaving out the demographic that comprises intelligent people who crave information, interesting trials and the education we get all while being entertained. I echo what someone else on this blog said - BRING BACK COURT TV...NOW PLEASE!

Don R.:

I feel I must jump on the bandwagon for COURTTV. No more live trials, too many cop shows cutting into court time. Catherine was an asset and she was replaced by Starr Jones??? That latest a couple months, thank god, but now replaced by some "TRUTV" mystery. Now Vinnie is gone. He is a natural with Lisa and what a shame that there has never been an announcement about Vinnie. I watch TRUTV about 15% of COURTTV! Something needs to be done soon!!!!!

Sharon A.:

Why? Why? Why so many changes? When your format was Court TV, I rarely changed the channel.
Now, Vinnie is gone along with Nancy Grace, Beth Karas, Catherine Crier. Why tune in?

Sharon

cynthia cohen:

I have to agree with some of the other comments -what happened? Vinnie's gone, Nancy's gone, Catherine Crier, Star & the list goes on..... I have to say Court TV was one of my absolute very favorite channels - actually my dial never left Court TV - now I think one day I'm going to tune in at 9am & Court TV/TRU TV "whatever" you call it will be completely gone. Please get it together & stop fixing something that was never broke. I know Vinnie will be fine just like Nancy & the others but I do not think TRU TV will be on the air much longer at this rate. Thank you for listening & I hope you actually DO LISTEN. Cynthia

sally y:

star jones gone ... good vinnie gone ... bad please return court tv much better than tru tv banfield very very annoying please tell me where i can find previous verdicts that i have missed go back to the old format PLEASE

Janet W:

What a mess, someone has made of Court TV. I was so glad to read the comments of others, that all agree with my feeling of loss for the TV personel that we all enjoyed watching and especially for the old Court TV.
There is only one area that I disagree I really like Ashley, she is not a lawyer and sees the trial from the eyes of an average viewer.

I question how many more negative comments you will need, how many viewers you can afford to lose and how many advertisers you are willing to lose before you take action to correct your mistakes.

sparty:

PLEASE!! get rid of Ashley "i'm just a lay person" Banfield. Bring back Vinny quickly before i lose interest forever...

Nina:

Where is Dominick? Where is Dayle? Where is Court TV?

Johnnie Ergle:

I can't understand why Vinny is gone. Does anyone
know why he left.

mARCIA H. RIBERA:

WOW - i JUST LOGGED ON TO TELL jAMI HOW FABULOUS SHE HAS BEEN TODAY, AND i GET TO READ LETTERS FROM PEOPLE FOR MONTHS. eVERY TIME i TURN ON, I LEARN SOMETHING NEW ABOUT MY NOTEBOOK. COURT TV HAS ALWAYS GOTTEN ME THRU THE DAY, AND I MISS CLARA AND MB, BUT I'M 73 AND AM USED TO CHANGES. ANYWAY, TODAY'S SHOW, GOING FROM mICHIGAN TO bETH IN VEGAS TO RICCIO IN THE STUDIO, HAS PROVEN THAT jAMI CAN'T ONLY MULTI TASK, BUT SHE IS BRILLIANT, AND TODAY'S SHOW IS ONE OF THE MOST ENTERTAINING, EVER. tHANKS GUYS, BUT YES, WHERE IS VINNIE????? FROM

Does any one know where I can still watch cops online. I used to watch it when WNYW TV in New York streamed it on the net. They have now stopped streaming it, and none of the television networks in Austrralia are airing it, so anything would be appreciated. I can't afford pay-tv, it's too outrageously expensive.

Peggy Ferguson:

Would any of you remember "Nashville Now","CMT",not cmt thats on now,and/or? Well, the same was done to them as CTV---CBS bought Nashville Now and turned it into reruns of old shows they had stacked away but it didn't "reap" for them. Now its "spike" ,still reruns ,and now CMT. is for infintiles-- the same will happen to "TruTV",yuk! You know,I read on a sight, looking for Vinnie, that Lisa Bloom had both him and James Curtis fired-- maybe Lisa and her mom didn't like
James calling "mom" to her too? I remember how different Lisa dresses now than then too.Doesn't anyone miss Michel Bryant-- I liked his humor which no one else has now.
I've been mad too since Vinnie isn't around,or mentioned, anymore, but just searching for "him" ON the sights I'm satisfied knowing he is just on radio(satelite, that is) now. He's probably happier away from Lisa with his medical problems of diabetes, don't you think? As for Ashleigh, nobody wanted her on Fox either--thats another story though.I followed Nancy to Headline News.but since having her twins she "can't" get on any subject but "kids, etc".
I agree whole heartly an error was made in "giving"CTV "away.
I've watched CTV ever since Gregg Jarrett(Fox) and Dan Abrams(MSNBC)were on it. Last but not least-- it was named after the new owner,Ted Turner. All his networks are haven't you noticed?
Well, hope you enjoyed your history lesson on CTV today & learned some things---- Peg,FL

Donna :

OMG! Absolutely adore what Kristina wrote 3/19/08. Just wanted to say, I second her emotions! Ditto...ditto...ditto to each and every sentence!

We definitely can see why it is no longer referred to as Court TV. Less trial coverage and just a bunch of blabbering attorneys. I think they went approximately a month before they gave us a live trial. Who wants to watch an ancient trial where all you need to do is Google the trial and have instant results.

I do miss Vinnie, Michael Bryant, Catherine and Nancy.

TruTV is shameless. They could be courteous enogh to provide their viewers with some type explantion as to why an anchor or correspondent will be leaving the air and wish them well.

Does anyone ever wonder if Lisa Bloom wears a wig? Her hair never moves, stays parted in the exact same spot and stays the exact same color over the years? Inquiring minds would like to know

I am now wondering if they have fired Beth Karas? What's shaking TruTV?

Carrie:

I as many of the viewers-just hanging on by a thread would like to know if our questions and concerns deserve replies? To whom do we address our questions and actually get an answer??? What good is a blog if we get no answers? It sure sounds to me that you are willing to turn a deaf ear to the viewers that made your channel what it was(not is)for a very long time. Maybe if we all turn the station for a while, you would be surprised at how many of us out here there really are. Then we'll see if the teeny boppers are enough to carry this channel without us. In closing, I would like an answer to my question:To whom do we direct our questions and concerns? I believe we deserve an answer from a person from the network? Or don't we count?
Disappointed and hanging on by a thread,
Carrie

Pauline:

I agree with most of the comments...Why why why take the best personel off????? Vinnie was one of my favorites, alosn with the other ones gone EXCEPT Star..yuck for her..Jami...her too...Ashly...well...no coment. PLEASE TELL US WHERE VINNES IS..AND DIANE DIAMOND....MICHEAL,...I wonder why why why?????? We are inquiring minds and we want to know where we can find all of the others!!!!!

Kristina:

To Donna from April 16th....thank you for the lovely compliment. :)

Okay, now I'm scared....WHAT HAPPENED TO LISA?! I thought Lisa was only on a vacation last week. I calmed my nerves and told myself that all week only to turn it on this Monday morning as I got ready for work and she and the show are not there. This is like torture! What is "TruTV" doing to us?! (I still hate that name...TruTv.)

And now a word from Jethro Bodine, President of TruTV: "I know what we'll call it Uncle Jed...TruTV 'cuz it'z all tru...all them car chases and perty girls on the beach. Whoo-ee! I'm so smart with these here TV shows that I should be a brain surjun, Uncle Jed!"

I Looked all over the web for info on Lisa and her show and can't find a thing. Oh my gosh people....why...why...why!!! Not Lisa, too! Okay, nobody from this network is reading our Blog, friends. It's like they just don't care. How you could dismiss wonderful people and their shows and THINK we won't notice or ask? You know, for a show that dedicates a portion of ther airtime (a miniscule amount these days) to showing trial coverage in an effort to solve crimes, you have pulled the biggest crime of all....against your devoted viewers. Mystery? Here's a good mystery. Why don't you do a "Forensic Files" on the "Mystery of the Disappearing Anchors"....Vinnie....now Lisa. It's sure to be a hit - I bet all of us on this Blog will watch.

Coni:

EVERYONE - GO TO TRUTV.COM AND CLICK ON 'DISCUSS' TO ADD POST TO THEIR MESSAGE BOARD!

Sharon:

Everyone has said everything I've been saying. I HATE the new programming too. Enough of beach bum bikini, car chase crap. Glad Star Jones is gone...but I miss the way things use to be. Vinnie was terrific; Catherine Crier was very informative. The trial coverage has gone down the tubes and like so many of you have shared; there is absolutely no reference source for catching up on trials that us working people miss out on!

Glenn A. Maloy:

I have just recently started watching Tru TV ,and I do not know the show well. I do not know what the show used to be, and I do openly admit that I am not a TV junkie. But yesterday I had the best time of my life out on my boat with my new friends Beth Karras and her crew. Beth is very dedicated to her work and while she may be blonde, she is one sharp cookie. This is a woman that never stops working even while out on a boat in Puget Sound! While sitting in the salon of my boat eating lunch she had to step out on the back deck to take a call. She is always working! I simply love this woman and I am now a Tru Fan!!!
Keep up the good work Beth and crew and a note to CNN, you are lucky to have this woman! Treat her well!! Glenn A. Maloy

Terry:

I used to really enjoy court tv, I'll call it the old days. The days with Cathrine Crier, and Nancy Grace and even Starr was not so bad.
I would like to speak for everyone who watch court tv for the court trials, not for cops style shows etc. It used to run until 6pm in my time zone and I just loved every minute of it. This new format is just terrible. I am just waiting for the day whe
