Well, the handwriting has been on the wall for quite some time. They gave hime th 6pm CT slot. They want to go to a younger market, but should not forget the older viewers. They watch and buy also.

The show will be sorely missed, but we will continue to watch the reruns. My husband and I are big fans of Emeril and look forward to his future endeavors. Thanks for many years of enjoying great food!

NOT GOOD. This guy is an icon on the food channel. I hope the re-runs go for a long time, cause my remote only goes from Food Channel to Discovery...

It is very sad to hear that Emeril will no longer air, has the Food Network gotten that big that it has forgotten who put them on the map. I think this a very poor decision and instead of just cancelling his show, maybe perhaps revamp his format and move his time slot back to where it was originally. So many guests so many people have either seen him on the Food Network or have gone to see him live. He will be missed.

What a disappointment! My 3 1/2 year old (and her mom and dad) is a huge fan - she knows that music anywhere. I hope he has a new show up his sleeves, but it will hard to replace the live vibe. Best of luck to the big "E"

What kind of ##### is this we love Emeril Live

I just came to this site for the first time today in order to find information for a presentation tonight, and saw this article, and I cannot believe at all that this is happening. Emeril Live is one of my most favorite shows on tv and will be missed. All I can say is that I hope that the food network gets a clue and one day decides how badly it wil be missed. All the re-runs in the world won't matter because we are all looking for new episodes. Also, I have to comment on what a lot of people before me said. First of all, I thought something was terribly wrong when I saw it listed as being on at 7 pm EST(6 pm CST),but I was wrong. It was a tradition for me to watch it every night at 8 pm when I was home. Look at all the empty time slots with nothing but paid programming, or shows that air 3 or 4 times a night. Why can't that time be devoted to his show. And if they can afford to open time slots up for re-runs, why not just keep airing the show.
Heck, the one person mentioned how he was one of the people who basically paved the way for newer stars, and that is so true. Emeril was one of the original F.N. chefs and to stop running his show is a disgrace. Yes, they will show Essence of Emeril. BUT, how many people are home to watch it? It's shown once a day a few times a week early in the morning. That couldn't generate the ratings the live show does.

HOW COULD YOU TAKE OFF MY FAVORITE SHOW. I AM JUST SIX BUT WATCH IT EVERY NIGHT. I WAS HOPING TO GO TO SEE IT ONE DAY. I AM SAD. WROTE WITH SOME HELP.

Emeril has been great, but maybe he is tired of the format and needs a break. I'm hoping F.N. is working on developing a new show for him - how about one based in New Orleans. Thanks Emeril for all of the great recipes, tips, and entertainment. we will miss you

This is such a shame!! I used to watch Emeril every night with my mom and dad, and those memories will stay with me forever.Why???? I know one viewer who will not watch food network again!

Unbelievable! Emeril is the Food Network's Number 1 chef; their mainstay. Has FN got nuts? I am seeing more and more people and entities going to self-destructive behavior. Maybe the FN execs need a shrink to help them reconsider their plan before they shoot themsleves in the foot. And to cancel the show before Christmas when watching Emeril's Christmas shows are as traditional as watching Miracle on 34th Street, is outrageous. I am really mad and for the record reruns won't cut it. I say keep Emeril and fire the the FN!

Sorry folks...the Food Network is getting younger and the old favorites are going by the wayside. Case in point: Mario Batali is no longer on the Food Network either. Even though he handily won most episodes of Iron Chef. It's just time.

For those of you who think Emeril is the Food Network's #1 Chef...sorry...the young chefs/cooks are taking over. It's no longer about good cooking, it's about image. Paula Deen is disappearing as well...they'll always be around but the torch must be passed.

Everyone needs to remember that even though these chefs are household names, they have families and businesses to run. It is selfish to think that they shouldn't be able to enjoy the fruits of their labors.

If this was his choice, then I am happy for him and he SHOULD be able to enjoy the fruits of his labor. If this is FN pushing him out, then shame on them. My husband and I get no end of pleasure watching him and he is more entertaining than any of the others on FN. I love many of the rest of the chefs, but Emeril is in a class by himself!!

Wow, what a shocker. I thought he was the glue that held it all together. It is unfortunate that Emeril will no longer have new shows. I guess the time change should have been the first indication that the show was struggling.

Food network has made some mistakes this last year, but dropping Emeril Live isn't one of them. It's the worse one in their history!!!

Emeril made them & this is how they repay him.

He'll always been our favorite chef. The way he explains how to best make the recipe was the best of any chefs I've seen. It'll be years before they find someone who can even begin to fill his shoes.

Emeril Live is one of the best shows on and you should have left time slot alone. There are other
chefs on Food Network that I would love to see get
cancelled. Emeril will make it with or without you. It would be nice to see something of him as he ages--not all reruns. I do not watch Food Network as much as I did for obvious reasons.
