Fox continues to round out its slate of alternative projects, picking up the next cycle of “Kitchen Nightmares” starring Gordon Ramsey as the studio prepares for its post-strike schedule.
The studio confirmed Friday that the series would return to the airwaves, with production of the Granada America-produced program beginning earlier this week in New York. Between 10 and 13 episodes of the show are expected to be made for air while Mr. Ramsey will continue to play host to the slew of restaurant disasters.
The series’ first season was a solid performer for the network on Wednesdays, with ratings rising 20% as the season progressed from program’s debut of 3.1 among 18- to 49-year-old viewers. The series also grew by 18% among total viewers watching the show.
Last week, the network ordered an additional 13 episodes of “Moment of Truth” to firm up its schedule. The lie-detector program ranks as the third-highest rated show of the season among adults 18-49 and adults 18-34 (behind Fox’s “American Idol”).
Hosted by Mark L. Walberg, “Moment of Truth” will move to its regularly scheduled time period of 8-9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5.
