Crown Media Holdings said it renewed its distribution agreement for Hallmark Channel with Cablevision Systems.
The new agreement gives Cablevision the right to distribute the standard definition and high definition versions of Hallmark Movie Channel.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Crown’s old deals called for nearly no subscriber fees. Recently completed deals with most of the major carriers reportedly call for Crown to receive a few cents per subscriber.
“We are very happy to announce this renewal of our affiliation agreement with Cablevision which, because of its service area in and around New York City, is a particularly important partner in our ability to showcase our industry-leading, family-friendly programming,” Henry Schleiff, president and CEO of Crown Media, said in a statement. “Indeed, this new agreement reflects both Cablevision’s and Crown Media’s emphasis on quality and service to our respective subscribers and viewers.”
