YouTube continued to smoke the competition in the number of videos watched each month, posting a 24% gain in March compared with the month before, according to the latest Video Census figures from Nielsen Online.

The world’s biggest video-sharing site delivered 3.6 billion video streams in March, up from 2.9 billion in February. YouTube attracted about the same number of unique visitors each month—about 70 million—but those viewers are watching more videos on the site.

Meanwhile, Fox Interactive Media saw its number of video streams fall in March to 333 million, down from 406 million in February. Unique visitors dropped from 21 million to 20 million.

Yahoo, the third-ranked online video brand, saw an increase in March to 266 million videos delivered, up from 245 million in February, with unique visitors rising slightly to 22 million.

Rounding out the top 10 online video brands for March were Nickelodeon Kids and Family Network, MSN, ESPN, Disney Online, Turner Entertainment New Media Network, CNN Digital Network and Google.
