Dick Askin Receives Rutgers’ Alumni Honor

Dick Askin, former Academy of Television Arts & Sciences chairman-CEO and president-CEO of Tribune Entertainment, is the newest honoree to be inducted into the Rutgers University Alumni Federation’s Hall of Distinguished Alumni.

The May 10 induction ceremony cited Askin’s industry leadership, promotion of educational outreach programs and encouragement of television industry diversity.

Previous honorees to receive the federation’s highest alumni honor, which recognizes superior professional and civic achievements, include actor James Gandolfini, NBA commissioner David Stern, North Carolina State University basketball coach Jim Valvano and economist Milton Friedman.

Askin currently heads Askin & Co., a television consulting firm specializing in distribution, marketing and programming. He also is a board member of the Hollywood Radio & Television Society.

Dick,

Congratulations! I didn't know you were a "Scarlet Knight"?

Hope everything is going well with you. I am still enjoying my time off. Actually, Deena and I are leaving for Ft Lauderdale today to get married on Sunday.

Hope we can keep in touch.

All the very best,

Jon K
