International Networks Distributes Star Indian Channels

International Networks, a leading aggregator of multi-ethnic programming, will represent five of Star’s Indian channels to MSOs in the United States. The channels will be included on International Networks’ transponder and be available to cable operators immediately.

“We look forward to increasing our distribution to cable homes across the U.S. so that more South Asian viewers can enjoy top-rated entertainment from back home,” said David Wisnia, senior VP for distribution and sales and head of Star’s North American and European offices.

Michael Scott, International Networks’ VP of affiliate sales and marketing, added, “As the Indian American consumer segment has grown, so has the need for operators to have quality South Asian content to stay competitive. International Networks is excited to partner with Star to provide five of India’s most popular channels to help MSOs better reach this lucrative demographic.”

The five Indian Star channels included in the agreement are the Hindi pay TV Star India Plus, the Bollywood Star IndiaGold, the edgy, urban Star India One, Star India News and Tamil network Vijay.
