Comedy Central is breathing new life into the iconic 1970s variety program “The Gong Show.”
The network has greenlighted “The Gong Show With Dave Attell,” the comedian-star of the network’s “Insomniac” series. The new “Gong Show,” set to premiere July 17, is produced by “Win Ben Stein's Money” producer Andrew Golder and Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison Productions in association with Sony Pictures Television.
Like the original, the talent show will consist of off-beat acts to be judged by a rotating panel of celebrity judges. Judges displeased with performances will wield a giant gong hammer to cut off no-talent schtick.
“Stars will be made,” Mr. Attell promised in a statement, “feelings will be hurt.”

So did Dave Attell also formerly work for the CIA?

Hurray! I remember the first show which was hilarious and fun to watch. This fill-in show will be permanent on a major network. This minute information does not say weather it will be a 1/2 or 1 hour show.
Can't wait.
