ABC Shows to Be Offered Online on Veoh

Disney found another suitable home for its television networking programming online. The media company has inked a deal with video-sharing site Veoh Networks to offer ABC shows and ESPN.com short content.
Veoh Networks will integrate ABC.com’s full-episode player into its site to carry ABC shows such as “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Desperate Housewives” and “Ugly Betty.”
ABC has been very selective in its online video distribution strategy, choosing to syndicate its shows to sites that will also carry the ABC.com player. ABC.com won an Emmy for its video player and considers the player an integral part of the online TV viewing experience.
Under the deal, Veoh also now offers highlights from major sporting events and ESPN shows using an ESPN video player. In addition, Veoh will carry short-form programming from ABC in a short-form player later this year.
Former Disney CEO Michael Eisner is one of Veoh’s investors.
