Dish Sneaks ‘Amanda’ Before Theatrical Release
Dish Network will provide a sneak preview of the theatrical film “Finding Amanda” through a deal with Magnolia Pictures and HD Net.
Subscribers will be able to view the film in standard definition via pay-per-view for $9.99 and through Dish on-demand in standard definition and high definition for $10.99 and $11.99, respectively, from June 13-26.
Following the film’s theatrical release on June 27, the film will be available in standard-definition PPV for $6.99 through June 30.
“We continue to look for ways to offer our customers a unique TV viewing experience, including affordable alternatives to taking the entire family out to the movies,” said Andy Karofsky, VP of programming for Dish Network, in a statement. “As we expand our Dish Network pay-per-view and Dish on-demand services, our subscribers will see an even wider variety of programming options, including movies that are available on the same day as DVDs are released and others before they are released in theaters.”
“Finding Amanda” stars Matthew Broderick as an ex-gambler and failing TV writer on a trip to rescue his wife’s (Maura Tierney) niece Amanda (Brittany Snow), a prostitute in Las Vegas. The film is written and directed by Peter Tolan (“Rescue Me”).
