LIN TV veteran Edward L. Munson Jr. is joining Meredith Broadcasting Group as general manager of KPHO-TV, Meredith’s CBS affiliate in Phoenix.

Mr. Munson spent 17 years with LIN TV, most recently as the VP responsible for sales strategy for the group. His other positions at LIN included serving as general manager of WAVY-TV in Norfolk, Va., and as VP overseeing half of the group’s stations.

“Ed possesses a blend of extensive local experience and industry knowledge. This combination—in addition to his successful 30-year track record in the broadcasting business—makes him the right fit for Meredith and KPHO-TV,” Meredith Broadcasting Group President Paul Karpowicz said Monday in announcing the appointment.
