NBC is making some temporary tweaks to its summer schedule.
Starting Monday, "Nashville Star" will expand from its current 90-minute format and will instead air two-hour episodes from 9-11 p.m. for the next two weeks.
NBC has also rejiggered its Wednesday lineup for next week. The network has slotted the season finale of "Deal or No Deal" at 8 p.m. on June 25, pushing the premiere of "Baby Borrowers" to the 9 p.m. slot and "Celebrity Circus" to 10 p.m.
Like most of the other broadcast networks, the Peacock's summer lineup has been greeted with indifference by viewers. Both new and returning shows have failed to generate any heat.
NBC is praying established hit "America's Got Talent," which returns tonight, will jumpstart things. ABC, meanwhile, has high hopes for next week's premieres of "Wipeout" and "I Survived a Japanese Game Show."

I'm excited about the Baby Borrowers. It looks like a thoughtful show that enforces good values.

I think this show sounds really good and raises a lot of questions for our society. It’s kind of controversial. Should we be promoting birth control on tv? Should we be teaching teens about having babies? And what should they do if they are preganant, is this show saying they should adopt the baby out? And what about the people who gave these teens their kids to use for the show? I’ll be watching.

This show is an abomination! I can not believe there is a show advocating abortion that is hitting the airwaves!

The fact that the line-ups are "greeted with indifference" should tell the Nets that this crap isn't worth producing. Yes, it's cheap but if it isn't being watched those ad dollars are going to dry right up and be gone.
This can't be blamed on the WGA strike, summer has always been a wasteland and now that reality/game/non-fiction programming is the mandate the trend is downward instead of using the time to test bubble pilots or presentations.
Never underestimate the viewer that theory has failed every time it has been tried.

Shelly-
Who said anything about this show advocating abortion? They are simply showing teens how difficult it is to raise a baby. Some of them may choose later to have abortions, if they become pregnant, as a result of being on this show, which I would regret, but hopefully they either avoid pregnancy or adopt out, instead.
Seeing this show as advocating abortion is your interpretation, not supported by the facts so far as I can see, with all due respect.
Thanks!

Shelly, I don't understand how this show is advocating abortion! It hasn't even come out yet and everyone is already ragging on this show.

I think it's quite a leap to say that NBC is advoating abortions. I can see where Shelly would come to that conclusion but I think their aim is to dissuade kids before they get pregnant.

I think Baby Borrowers is going to be a good show - they should be airing it in high school sex ed classes to de-glorify teen pregnancy!
