‘Breaking Bad’ Starts Shooting Season 2

The AMC original series “Breaking Bad” will begin production on its second season July 15 in Albuquerque, N.M.

Series star Bryan Cranston will direct the second-season premiere, his first time directing for the series. Cranston directed several episodes of “Malcolm in the Middle.”

“Breaking Bad’s” 13-episode second season will premiere on AMC in early 2009.

“As we ramp up production for the next season of AMC’s original drama series ‘Breaking Bad,’ we look forward to returning to the endless visual settings of Albuquerque to not only work with the talented artists and crew base that the city offers, but also it serves as such a perfect backdrop for the evolution of Walt White's character,” Vlad Wolynetz, VP of production, series and movies at AMC, said in a statement.

“Breaking Bad” comes from writer-producer-director Vince Gilligan (“The X-Files), fellow High Bridge Productions executive producer Mark Johnson, Gran Via Productions and Sony Pictures Television.

Seriously 2009 I am going crazy waiting already and Now its not untill 2009. Well I can't wait. But I love the show. Great work and would make a great reality checker for teens.

Melissa:

I am literally addicted to this show. I can't believe it's taking so long to come out with a second season. They couldn't have picked better actors for this show. This show is the best show I have ever seen on TV. It's a good thing it's on AMC otherwise I think it would be lame...lame...lame!!!!

Devon:

I have been waiting a long time to see more episodes. I didn't even know that episode 7 was the end of season 1. They just started showing reruns. 2009 is a long time to wait. This is by far the best show on television and I'll be buying season 1 as soon as it hits blue-ray. I am scared to hear that Cranston will direct the second-season premier, though. Everything about the show is so good. Why tinker with it? I hope he doesn't ruin the movie-like cinemaphotography. That is one of the best things about the show.

JD:

Wow 2009 that really sucks
this show is one of the greatest shows
and the actors are the best picks
cant wait for season 2

Alex:

I've just been lucky enough to watch six (6) episodes in two days here at Showtime productions, but was crushed & burned to discover that we can only expect seven (7) in season 1!! It was set for nine (9) but the goddamn 2007/2008 writers strike messed it up. Couldn't they have shot the remaining episodes this year? Now we are waiting six (6) months for season 2! Might this result in a loss of audience? Maybe, but I'll be tuning in soon as.

Margie:

This is a bit ridiculous! I can't believe they only gave us 7 episodes and then make us wait so long to start season 2. What happened to seasons beginning in the fall like they used to. And didn't seasons used to have way more episodes than 13 (the scheduled amount for season 2)? We will have been waiting plenty longer than 6 months, more like 8+ months!!!

tim shannon:

BEST SHOW OF ALL TIME!!!!! ENOUGH SAID!!!!!!! YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT WAITING. YOU KNOW WHAT ANYTHING THAT GOOD IS WORTH THE WAIT.

Robert:

I'm just glad there is a season 2. 2009? Ack! I wish they'd make up for the short season of season 1 and make 27 episodes. At least give us some Making of... webshows of what their filming now.

Rock On

Robert

Jennifer:

ugh I hate that we have to waite till '09, that blows. This is the one show me and the hubby both enjoy. And with such a long waite it better be just as kick a** as season one. Oh well, I'm still a huge fan and will be egarly waiting in front of the TV the night it finally airs... just like all of you!!

DimonaKid:

WTF???Well early next year is still better than never at all!
Great riveting series & good writing !
Glad to see some real "Todays" type issues are being delt with!

65chvlrydr:

This show depicts the meth trade in a perfect light. The money to be made is alluring, yet it also show how devastating drug can be. This show is pretty REAL... AMC hit a home run here, can't wait for season two!!

Impatient:

2009, seriously? Why not film one episode at a time and release them as you go along? Even a new episode every two weeks would be better than waiting until "early" 2009, whenever that will be.... This is going to be an excruciating wait; at least I have Mad Men to tide me over until then. WRITERS, PLEASE DON'T STRIKE AGAIN AND MESS THIS UP FOR YOURSELVES AND YOUR CUSTOMERS!! ONE MORE STRIKE, AND I'LL STOP BUYING YOUR PRODUCTS FROM ITUNES AND JUST MAKE A COPY OF THE DVDS MY FRIENDS BUY.

MiKE HoGG E HoGG:

2009? Thats not so far away. quitcherbitchin'. why does jesse look so familiar? probably because he looks like all the rest of the grimey tweekers in town. he's the best choice for his role. i think he even outshines malcolms dad. hope they keep it gangster next season with the mexicans and stuff. what was that dudes name? tuco? kinda reminds me of me. Breaking bad and Weeds go hand and hand but in the end, Weeds trumps bb anyday. Ill hump mary louise parker anyday. thats what bb needs. a hot tweeker girl.

Lee :

Thankyou for bringing Breaking Bad back to us.
Everyone I know who's seen this show loves it as I do and I'm thrilled to have it back even though the wait is killing me.

Cathy:

We are just glad that they posted a release date for the new season.
