Sky Digital will launch Military History in the U.K. and Ireland on July 28. The launch will mark the brand’s linear debut outside the U.S.
The History Channel (U.K.), a joint venture of AETN and BSkyB, will program, manage and operate the U.K. channel.
The network will feature U.K. and international military history programming such as “Jetstream,” about the male and female pilots of fighter aircrafts.
“We are thrilled to launch Military History into the U.K. on Sky, marking the international debut of the brand. We believe the channel, the genre and our brand of storytelling will captivate U.K. viewers, and we anticipate additional launches of the channel in the near term,” Sean Cohan, senior VP of AETN International, said in a statement.
Military History, which launched in the U.S. in 2005, explores the warfare, battles, strategies, technologies and weaponry of militaries through nonfiction programming.
