NBC Floats Armada of Olympics Commentators
With a record 3,600 hours of Beijing Olympics coverage on tap for next month, NBC will bring an army of commentators to the Games, with an unprecedented 106 commentators on tap.
The group will be led by Olympics veteran Bob Costas, who will return for his seventh Olympics as prime-time host. Also on hand will be 28 Olympians to offer their own insights to the events.
“My first Olympics in Mexico City in 1968 were the first Olympics live in prime-time, and we had maybe two dozen commentators,” said Dick Ebersol, chairman of NBC Universal Sports & Olympics. “To have a roster of 106 commentators broadcasting 3,600 total hours is simply astounding. It’s a tribute to David Neal and Molly Solomon that we’re able to put together such a talented and versatile roster, with a great mix of Olympic veterans and newcomers, particularly considering many of these sports are rarely televised.”
Other hosts set for the telecasts include Jim Lampley, who is working on his 14th Olympics and will anchor NBC’s afternoon telecasts; Mary Carillo, running NBC’s late-night coverage; Alex Flanagan, as the face for CNBC and USA Network’s coverage; Matt Vasgersian, who also will host for USA Network; Melissa Stark, anchoring MSNBC’s broadcasts; Bill Patrick, hosting MSNBC’s coverage of the Summer Games; Fred Roggin, hosting CNBC’s Boxing in Beijing; and Lindsay Czarniak, hosting Oxygen’s coverage and serving as a sports desk reporter.
Among the correspondents will be Cris Collinsworth and Jimmy Roberts.

Here is the list of announcers.

I am very disappointed in the lack of national pride and respect for the men's gymnastic team by Tim D. His blow by blow comments praising the Chinese and yet finding every little fault with the American team is very low and disrespectful. Don't think that has gotten by anyone. You should be ashamed of yourself. I feel sorry for someone with so little national pride.
Timma
I am really not a phan of any of the gymnastics.
At the suggestion of my wife, I tried to give it a chance only to be turned off completely by one commentator....Tim Daggett.
This dood is the card carrying example of: "Just because you were good at the sport, doesn't mean you should be employed to commentate about the sport".. let alone be allowed to talk at all.
Tim Dagget is so bad that he makes Bill Walton look like a seasoned professional.
Serious Tim..shut the f*ck up. I mean it..don't f*cking talk during the broadcast.
You are uber negative, overly critical and offer up horrible/weird commentary.
I'm suggesting you intern under Billy Packer so you can at least achieve a break even point.
Driver B
Good Lord I hate Tim Daggett.
Kirk Kalvar
Eyee Hsu is hot!

NBC(Brian)reported about the lipsink during the opening ceremonies. You said that "China deemed the singer wasn't cute". Now the whole planet knows the truth. That professinal reporting should make the child feel better as she grows up. Thanks Brian

Being in my late 40's I've seen my share of sporting events, including several Olympics. Never appreciated boxing in any forum. However, the commentators used by NBC this current olympics are engaging and entertaining and have made the whole experience intersting and enjoyable to watch. Thanks guys for showing me a sport I never understood nor appreciated until now.

Tim Daggett, your a fucking pedophile stalking all these kids year round. I know you don't even look at girls that way you homo. Give it up, you got a gold medal by default 14 years ago. stop talking about these kids doing tricks, they are way better than you ever were, you cant even talk right. I wish i could go back in time and bet against every prediction you ever made this Olympics, I'd be rich. You should be commentating for the special Olympics you'd make more sense to them you tubby bitch.
Terri Gierer
Who is broadcasting the women's marathon? The voice sounds familar, but do not see the announcers in the list above.

Mr. Lewis Johnson, NBC Olympic analyst, can you please be a little more positive. I know that you have an accomplished athletic history. However, must you be so critical. How about a little more National (US) centered support. I think you forget that these athletes have family members listening to you speak of their respective inabilities and not emphasizing their ability. GO AMERICA GO !!!
