Fouts Picked for ‘NFL on CBS’
“The NFL on CBS” has drafted a Hall of Famer for its lineup of analysts.
Dan Fouts, former All-Pro quarterback for the San Diego Chargers, will be calling selected games throughout the 2008 “NFL on CBS” schedule. Mr. Fouts also will call selected college football games, including those for CBS’ “SEC on CBS” broadcasts.
The announcement marks a return for Mr. Fouts to the network. He previously called games for “The NFL on CBS” along with Dick Stockton and Verne Lundquist from 1988 to 1993. Most recently, Mr. Fouts was play-by-play announcer for ABC’s coverage of Pac-10 college football.

Great to hear about Dan Fouts being picked for your NFL on CBS....my comment: I recently played golf with Dan in Oregon at The Salishan Golf and Spa Resort (August 6th, 2008). I just happened to be at the same time (7:10 tee time) as he and his buddy Steve. Throughout the whole round, I didn't really know how to act? Here I was in the presence of greatness and if I over reacted in any way or form, I would not only ruin playing well myself but probably ruin Dan's golf outing too. I kept it low key - Dan was absolutely great to play golf with - down to earth, a gentleman's broadcaster. I need him to do me a favor and sign/witness my scorecard - what are the chances of that happening - let me know how I can send him my scorecard? Also, Thanks for the soda Dan, it sure was great sitting and having a chat with you and Steve....Regards, Dave Rodriguez (from Dallas,Texas)

Dan is a great addition to CBS Sports. He is not only a Hall of Famner on the football field, He is a Hall of Fame person.
