Following a summer test run, “The Wendy Williams Show” is poised to go national with the Fox Television Stations agreeing to launch the Debmar-Mercury-distributed series in mid-2009.
“Everything about the Wendy preview clicked for our stations, from conception to promotion to hitting the air,” said Frank Cicha, senior vice president of programming for Fox Television Stations. “It completely broke the mold. The show is now a proven winner, and we can’t wait to see it debut across the country next year.”
Fox’s owned and operated station group is comprised of 27 stations in 18 markets and covers nearly 37.34% of homes with television in the U.S.
“The Wendy Williams Show” will conclude its six-week preview this Friday. During the trial, it ran in New York (WNYW-TV), Los Angeles (KTTV-TV), Dallas (KDFW-TV) and Detroit (WJBK-TV).
“Wendy is an extraordinary talent who has attracted the strongest ratings for a new offering in years and generated enormous buzz around the country—unheard of for a show airing only in four markets,” Ira Bernstein, co-president of Debmar-Mercury, said in a statement. “We are grateful to Fox for believing in Wendy as much as we do.”

I can't wait for the show to make its debut in DC! I've been a fan of Wendy for years! I LOVE WENDY and we share one thing in commone we are both BIG FOOT CHICAS!

Love Wendy williams... Her boldness and her reality is such a breathe of FRESH Air. Even if she gossips..who doesn't and she is bold enough to admit what she has said...Love her and love her show, just wish I could watch it daily, but I only see Friday's show when I work from home. Would love to get tickest for a live taping, even if I am 57 years old!!! You go Wendy " How you Doin?"

I am not one of those crazy fan people, as I am over 40 years old, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE your show. I have been a Wendy listner for many years, and I must tell you that as for my husband and myself we are hooked. My husband was on vacation when the TV show started and he began watching and taped the shows to watch with me at night. Well let me tell you I miss you already, you make us laugh and talk about your crazy ---.
