Despite big cable network viewership for Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin’s speech, the premiere of FX’s new series “Sons of Anarchy” drew an encouraging 1.2 rating and 1.5 million viewers 18-49, according to Nielsen Media Research.
The series, about a motorcycle gang, ranked third among non-news cable programs for the night.
The ratings eclipsed those for both the premiere of the final season of “The Shield” on Tuesday and last year’s series premiere of FX’s “Damages.”
The premiere of “The Shield” drew a 1 rating, down from the 1.1 for last season’s premiere.

Hey Jon! if your going to write about a MOTORCYCLE CLUB (MC) be it real or fiction show enough respect to refer to them as a club not a gang!

great show does show the brotherhood of MOTORCYCLE CLUB .But not buying the Black guy threating them lol .Had to laugh at that one .Just wouldnt happen .Other than that the rest was pretty right on .Dont know if it is going to drive younger guys to get involved with Clubs .Thats Hollywood what your showing ,The real deal isnt the same but you guys did do a good job ,Couldnt have a better bunch of actors thats for sure .Like to know more how the club was formed ? Are they originally VIET NAM VETS ? .I see the young brother was looking at pictures of looked to me in VIET NAM and reading the BIOs of club then he got called out .Like to know more .Later IRONMAN

To Bikerude, you are are on every blog out there about this show saying every negative there is to say. Give it a rest already. This is a TV show. You said your peace, press on dude. Katy Segal looks amazing in this. She is a beautiful woman. The one flaw I did find was Charlie not being able to totally control his British accent but in time I am sure it will get better. I enjoyed the show, it was nice to see something different. So bikerdude chill and go watch something else.

the show was pretty good i must say. i enjoyed it for the most part. but ive hung out with many a MCs and no self respecting "white boy" MC is gonna do direct business with the black race. especially let them threaten them about some missing guns. most of the white MCs are pretty racist

TO IRONMAN: yeah it would be nice to see a little more about the background of the club. you know as everybody knows the Hells Angels all started as viet nam vets so i think that they used the scene where jax was looking through the pics in the storage as kind of a fore shadow and that the origin of them will come about later on as long as more info about his father and how he wanted the club to go. but idk thats just my opinion

I will be hooked on this show now! Peg Bundy is a bad-ass and it has the weird guy from Waterworld. Nice!

CyCo,What ? Hell's Angels started in Fontana CA in March of 1948 way before " viet nam vets ".
The show does play well and yes Katie Segal is a HOT "BITCH".

Thank you Oz for saying it like it is.. i grew up with a chapter living down the street from me in fontana.. i love it when people know there history...The Hells Angels club was formed in 1948 in Fontana, California.. and son of SONS OF ANARCHY.. is a good show.. nothing is never right on with the story line but for the times its close enough... great show...and the seconed one was good its getting even better...

Hells Angels was founded by WW II veterans. Mostly former fighter or bomber plane pilots and crews.

yes in the steel mill town of Fontana CA..
in 1948.....you know thousands of motorcycles took to Bay Area streets and highways Monday the 15th of sep-08 in honor of a fallen leader of the Hells Angels chapter in frisco...
