ABC News Ups Prieto, Reiter
ABC News has promoted Al Prieto to vice president of ABC NewsOne.
Mr. Prieto will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the network’s affiliate news service, which includes more than 200 stations and clients such as the BBC, Associated Press Television, Univision and ABC-owned television stations and affiliates.
Mr. Prieto joined NewsOne in 1988 as a writer, moving up the ladder through positions as a producer, managing editor, director and finally executive director.
Additionally, David Reiter has been upped to vice president of newsgathering for ABC News. He will oversee ABC’s newsgathering operations and the assignment of correspondents, producers and crews, in addition to supervising the sharing of editorial information and production resources among ABC’s broadcasts and platforms.
Mr. Reiter joined ABC News in 1994 as a desk assistant. Since then, he has served as assignment editor on the national and northeast desks, deputy and acting bureau chief for the Los Angeles bureau and senior producer of the special events unit.
