E! Gives ‘Denise Richards’ Another Season

Despite earlier reports to the contrary, E! Entertainment is bringing back “Denise Richards: It’s Complicated” for a second season, the network said Wednesday.

Production of the new season is slated to begin early next year.

The first episode drew 1.8 million viewers and over the course of the season the show averaged 1.1 million. It tripled the network’s prime-time average among 18- to 34-year-old women, an important demo for E!

"When Denise let viewers into her home last season, they got to know the real Denise and judge for themselves," Lisa Berger, executive VP for original programming and series development at E! Entertainment Television, said in a statement. "We all know that Denise is full of surprises and, from what we are already hearing, there is much more to come. Ryan Seacrest Productions is a fantastic partner for us and we look forward to the new season."
The series is produced by Ryan Seacrest Productions.

"We are thrilled about the renewal of the show and are geared up for an exciting second season with our continued partners at E! Entertainment," said Mr. Seacrest, who serves as executive producer.

Reports surfaced in August indicating that the show was being canceled because of low ratings. E! denied those reports at the time.

Oh good God! Did someone lose a bet here? I'm guessing the E! stands for embarrassment--which also sums this show up nicely.
