Fox Gives 'Death' a Rest
"Death" is about to take a holiday on Fox.
The network on Wednesday pulled low-rated Brad Garrett comedy "'Til Death" from its lineup, effective immediately. The show will be off the air for at least two weeks, according to program listings released by the network.
During those two weeks, Fox is planning to air repeats of "House" in the 9 p.m. Wednesday slot currently occupied by "Death." Earlier this month, Fox pulled the plug on "Death" companion "Do Not Disturb."
A Fox spokesman said "Death" would return after the November sweeps.
Sony Pictures Television produces "'Til Death," which is currently in its third season.

How do they expect a show to catch on when they just drop it into random empty holes in the schedule? I liked it, but even diligent searching couldn't keep up with their helter skelter 'scheduling.' I might add that the next door neighbors could have been left out from the beginning.
Robert (oh wait - Brad) was who we tuned in for, not to forget the wife who, with Brad, made a very watchable couple.
I hope Brad will land another show, with the same wife, or maybe even Debra,(you know who I mean)who was thought at first to be in the lineup.
This "hiatus" may very well turn out to be permanent.
Too bad. First, "Back to You," (which they ruined by changing the kid,)and now this.
I guess TV just can't afford good writing anymore.

@ Red: They can afford good Writers, but assuming that ten-percent of the Writer's blood sweat and devotion even makes it to air it's fatally blurred by the twenty 'Producers' attached to each show.
Don't cancel the shows, can the 'Producer's.' You'll save half the cost, and the show's increase in impact will hook viewers in droves! :)
TV dude
@ Michael J. Austin: The 'producers' are the writers. Learn how TV works, then speak.
In TV, producers = writers.
In film, producers = financiers.

I tend to agree with Michael; most TV shows have a list of "producers," most of whom get the credit in lieu of actual money, and who knows what they actually contribute?

I really enjoy this comedy. No matter how mnay people think it is the repeat of Raymond or King of Queens or many others, it is not. It is very relatable to those of us thirty and up, and many of the shows my friends and family can relate too. Joy with her sippy cup of wine at the crappy theatre, the issues with a college age student. No show out theredeals with an older couple who happen to be young at heart and have an older child in the picture. I love this show as do many others, but between the writers strike, the newness of the show, the lack of prmotion, and the ever chnaging schedule, the show has a hard time gaining viewers and therefore retaining viewers. Most people I talk to think the show has been cancelled and are suprised to know it hasnt due to watching one episode here, one episode there. It was on reruns on Sunday nights, then back on the air of a few weeks. This show has all the potential of the king of queens if given the proper attention and promotion. Also, the neighbors should have more inclusion in the show as they did firts season and part of the second season. The neighbors really pulled the comedic aspect together AND attracted the 20 somethings. Kenny is good, but should not be the focal point.I apologize for not remebering the names of the neighbors off hand, but they were a great part of the show.
